Holiday Weight Gain – Not as Much but Lasts a Lifetime!

You can lose weight over 40!

Holiday weight gain adds lasting weightYou may have heard that during the holidays, from Thanksgiving to New Years, the average weight gain is from 5-10lbs.  I’m sure that sounds alarming!  How can this be?  It’s not that bad.  But the bad thing is that any weight gained during the holidays, sticks with us!   Thus our obesity problem.  As we get older, we see this weight stay and make a home, but you can lose weight over 40, during the holidays!

According to The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)  weight gained during the holiday period is only about a pound.  That’s really not too bad but the problem is that this pound is not taken off in the next year and you will see weight gained over your lifetime of letting go during the holidays.  In fact, you may continue to let yourself go and gain a little more before the next Thanksgiving.

How to avoid holiday weight gain?

Scientists concluded that you can avoid holiday weight gain by 2 actions:  Being less hungry, diet or eating habits,  and being more active.  Conversely, weight gain will be from more eating and less activity.

Don’t let yourself go!  You won’t be happy and you will become over-weight, obese, fat, you name it!  It’s not good.
